3. Purpose and legal basis of the processing

Purpose and kind of data:
We process your contact details (surname, first name, email address, and information on your studies, as well as the uploaded documents for the evaluation of your application.

Your data are processed within the framework of the legitimate task for the purpose of evaluation of your application for participation in the Summer School on Mathematical Philosophy for Female Students. Data processing takes place for no other purpose than the specified or lawfully permitted purposes (e.g. under Art. 6 Para. 2 BayDSG, for internal auditing of the security systems).

We process your data in compliance with and on the basis of the General Data Protection Regulation, the Bavarian Data Protection Act, and other applicable data protection regulations. Where you have consented to this data processing, the processing takes place under Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. a GDPR.

4. Recipients of personal data

Your data will be transmitted to the selection committee.

5. Automated decision-making

Your data are not processed using fully automated processing methods for generating decisions.

 

 

6. Disclosure of the data to third parties

Within Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich, your personal data will be transmitted to those persons and areas that require them for the fulfilment of the specified purposes of processing. Your data will not be disclosed to third parties, to international organisations, or to any third countries.

7. Storage period

The duration of storage of the data will be determined based on the statutory provisions. The data will be deleted as soon as and in as much as they are no longer required for the specified purposes of processing, and where they are no longer required on the basis of statutory provisions. In the event of an authorised revocation of your consent, or of a legitimate objection to the processing of the data, erasure will take place immediately, unless the data are still required on the basis of statutory provisions.

Your personal data will be destroyed within 6 months after the application deadline, unless longer storage is necessary in order to defend legal claims.

8. Rights of the data subject

Within the legal requirements you have the right to to receive information about the data stored regarding your person (article 15 GDPR). If inaccurate personal data are processed, you have the right to correct them (Art. 16 GDPR). If the statutory requirements are met, you can request the erasure or restriction of processing, or submit an objection to processing (Art. 17, 18 and 21 GDPR).

Where and inasmuch as consent to the data processing has been obtained, there is a right to revoke this consent for the future. The administrative office responsible as specified under section 1 must be notified of the revocation in writing or electronically, without the need to indicate a reason. This does not affect the lawfulness of the data processing performed on the basis of the consent up until the time of revocation.

If you make use of your rights as specified, the responsible administrative office will review whether the statutory provisions to this end are fulfilled.

 

In the event of questions or complaints, please contact the office specified under section 1. Furthermore, you have the right under Art. 77 GDPR to complain to a data protection regulatory authority. 9. Obligation to provide personal data

Without your personal data, the performance of evaluation processes is not possible. If you have consented to the processing of your data, you can withdraw your consent at any time in the future. The lawfulness of the processing until the withdrawal remains untouched. In case you should opt for demanding that your data be deleted, during the application process this will be deemed a withdrawal of your application.
